About Danja
Danja is a registered psychologist and psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience working with people who present with a wide range of emotional challenges. Her clients describe her as compassionate, accepting and down to earth, with a warm sense of humour.
During over twenty years of practice as a psychologist, Danja has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, sexual health counselling, early psychosis, and youth mental health. Danja is experienced in working with clients experiencing trauma, complex trauma, childhood abuse, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, sexual difficulties, sexuality and gender issues. Danja uses an integrative approach, drawing upon a wide range of therapeutic approaches including mindfulness therapies and ACT, Attachment theory, trauma sensitive modalities, EMDR, Ego State Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Neurotherapy. She is trained in Sandtray Therapy, and has trained with Jungian Analyst, Clarissa Pinkola-Estes in the USA. Danja has completed advanced training in Internal Family Systems Therapy with Derek Scott (Canada). She has recently trained in Neurofeedback (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) and is excited to introduce this modality to her practice.
Danja takes a relational approach in her work, and believes that creating a welcoming atmosphere of safety and trust is the foundation of healing. She believes that we all have the capacity to heal ourselves, given the right environment and support. She strives to provide a welcoming, safe and comfortable space for her clients to explore their feelings, thoughts and goals, with a view to creating growth and change. Danja practices within a framework of inclusion, acceptance and non-judgement, and works with individuals to move beyond symptom relief and toward real and transformative change.
Danja is registered as a psychologist with AHPRA, and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Society of Australian Sexologists. In addition to her work in private practice, Danja has worked in several not for profit organisations and has experience in delivering training to therapists, and the management of mental health services.

Danja works using an integrated approach, drawing upon mindfulness-based therapies, ego state therapy, IFS, EMDR, solution focused therapy, and analytical expressive therapies such as sand tray therapy, dream work and active imagination.

Fees & rebates
Fees are $225 for a one hour session. Please allow 90 minutes for your initial session (no additional fee is charged).
Medicare rebates may apply (rebate currently stands at $96.65).
Private health fund rebates may apply. Private health insurance refunds differ considerably depening on your fund and your level of cover - please contact your private health fund to find out what your rebate would be.
